We focus on the legal service needs of businesses, individuals and families, and practice in Business Law, Wills & Estates, Family Law, Conveyancing, Litigation, Succession Planning, Collaborative Practice and Public Notary for Orange and Central West NSW.
Blackwell Short Lawyers was established in July 2006 by the founding principals seeking to provide a limited number of areas of practice for a regional law firm. Those initial areas Conveyancing, Wills & Estates and Business Law continue to this day with the firm expanding its areas of practice to include Family Law, Commercial and Estate Litigation, Succession Planning, and Public Notary.
Blackwell Short is now one of the biggest firms in the Central West of NSW.

In July 2022, George Blackwell who founded the firm with Anthony Short stood down as a director. Anthony was joined by Alison Neville as a director at that time. In July 2024, Charles Henley joined Anthony and Alison as a director.
Our focus is providing professional legal services for individuals, families and businesses.

In November 2021, Blackwell Short merged with Peter Boyd Solicitors. After the merge Peter Boyd was an integral part of the Blackwell Short team up until he sadly passed in May 2024. Peter enjoyed a remarkable legal career of over 45 years prior to joining Blackwell Short. We are proud to have played a small part in his legacy and cherished our time with him immensely. Pete's knowledge, skills and humour will be sorely missed.
